About the event
This course is developed to teach DD personnel in the care and treatment of individuals with
diabetes mellitus (DM) and Metabolic Glycemic Disorders. Provide instruction on the correct
procedure to safely administer and document subcutaneous injections to individuals in a DD
setting, according to ORC 5123.42, OAC 5123:2-6-03, OAC 5123:2-6-06. Certified DD personnel,
once trained, completion of class requirements and skills, must then be delegated by a licensed
nurse.
Eligibility Requirements: To obtain state certification, DD Personnel must successfully complete
this course, and pass this course by-
1. Have a current Certification 1 as a prerequisite.
2. Attending the entire 4-hour program, participate in classroom activities, discussions
and submit an evaluation of the program to the RN trainer.
3. Pass the course with 80% or better on the closed book test.
4. Perform the successful return demonstration as outlined in DODD curriculum

Payment must be received prior to the start of class to participate.
Any cancellations received within 24 hrs of class will secure a seat in an alternate date, but no refund will be given. No shows for any part of the class will still be charged the seat cost with restart of participation at next class at additional seat cost. Unforseen circumstance may be approved for other arrangements, on a case by case basis.
